Super Jump
From Burnopedia, the Burnout wiki
A Super Jump is a large ramp or fall that when approached with enough speed, can serve as a great shortcut or great way to change roads quickly.
There are 50 Super Jumps scattered around Paradise City. They are marked with blinking yellow cones before the ramp or fall. When a player jumps from such a ramp or fall the camera angle will change from the standard "behind car" or "bumper" view to a fixed view point and the airborne car will be shown in slow motion and eventually lead up to a snapshot of the car completely frozen in midair before returning to normal speed. Super Jumps are great for Barrel Rolls, Flat Spins, and Air Time bonus multipliers during Stunt Runs. If the player has enough skill and luck, they can be used to get a vertical takedown in events that involve opponents.
Completing all Super Jumps will unlock an achievement and a bonus vehicle, although the player must successfully land the jump and survive in order for it to count. Leaping off the jump and crashing will not count.
The player will know when he/she successfully lands a Super Jump by a progress message that will appear telling him/her how many Super Jumps the player has completed out of fifty total. If the player fails a super jump one of two things will happen. If the player has previously landed the super jump then he/she will just see the usual crash video. If the player did not previously land the jump then he/she will see a "Super Jump Failed" message after the crash video. This will let him/her know that he/she has to retry the jump in order to add it to his/her count.
The number of super jumps in each district is as follows:
| District | Super Jumps |
|---|---|
| Downtown Paradise | 10 |
| Harbor Town | 10 |
| Palm Bay Heights | 10 |
| Silver Lake | 10 |
| White Mountain | 10 |
| Total | 50 |
[edit] Super Jump Locations
The following table gives an efficient route to complete all Super Jumps and unlock the Super Jump achievement. Some of the jumps require a decent car, and the Hunter Manhattan seems to be a good low-ranking choice.
| Number | Area | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Superjump #01 is on the north-west corner of the intersection of Lambert Parkway and 7th Street. If you are having trouble finding it then keep heading north in town to East Crawford Drive, then go west as far as Lambert Parkway, turn left into Lambert Parkway and then 7th Street is the second intersection down. You will need a good deal of speed to make this jump so get a run up by heading east down 7th Avenue. When you land you will be on Newton Drive. Head south for the next jump. | |
| 2 | From Newton Drive head south under the Ocean View archway and then take a right onto Hubbard Drive. Follow this round to the junction with I-88 Section 3 and join the freeway there, heading north. Superjump #02 is on the eastbound side of the road just after the I-88 turns eastward past the tollbooths. Land on the westbound side of the I-88 and drop down the gap in the wall onto the railroad. | |
| 3 | Face west from where you land after #02 and you will see the cones for #03 leading up a metal stairway leading back up to the I-88 Freeway. After you have made this jump, turn around and drop down onto the railroad again. | |
| 4 | Head a short way east to Hamilton Avenue and drive north onto the pavement opposite the intersection with East Crawford Drive. Head east along the pavement and take the ramp down onto the beachfront. Gather some speed and take jump #04 up onto the roof of the buildings there. (If you do not land on the roof you may not be awarded with the super jump). | |
| 5 | Drive east off the roof of the buildings and carry on along the beachfront and up the next ramp back onto East Crawford Drive. You should see a building being built in the middle of the road with two large cranes. Head to the other side of this building for super jump #04 on the small traffic island immediately past of the building. Give yourself enough road for a run-up and use the superjump to fly into the building. Carry on west through the building and then turn around once you are back on East Crawford Drive. | |
| 6 | Head east again along East Crawford Drive and take the first right, which should be Moore Avenue. At the end of Moore Avenue turn left into 9th Street and superjump #06 is across the broken Paradise Bridge on the first right, into Paradise Avenue. | |
| 7 | Slow down after landing #06 and drop off from Paradise Avenue onto 7th Street just before the overhead railroad crosses Paradise Avenue. You will land right beside superjump #07. Head west enough for a run-up and then come back for superjump #07. Continue along to the intersection with Riverside Avenue for superjump #08. | |
| 8 | Join the traffic on 7th Street heading west and you will soon see superjump #08. Jump this, turn around, and then head east back to the intersection with Riverside Avenue for superjump #09. | |
| 9 | Cross the bridge on 7th Street and drop down into the train yard on the right before the Paint Shop. Drive south a hundred yards or so south along the train tracks and then turn round. Superjump #09 is next to the boarding with the black and yellow chevrons painted on it. If you did not make it back up to 7th Street from the jump use the ramp north of the superjump to climb back up again. | |
| 10 | Continue east along 7th street and turn right into Webster Avenue. The next superjump is at the top of the Parking Garage on the left hand side of the road. Once at the top, jump off superjump #10 on the north east corner of the building, landing on i-88 Section 2. Head south through the tollbooths and use the escape road on the right before the tunnel to get back onto Webster Avenue. | |
| 11 | Head south down Webster Avenue and then left onto 4th Street. Look for the Parking Garage signs just right of the intersection with Angus Wharf and head to the top of the garage for superjump #11. Take the middle ramp onto the top of the the west garage to complete this jump and get ready for #12. | |
| 12 | #12 is located on the north west corner of the garage roof you just landed on. There is a small drop down onto the next building which you will need a little bit of speed for as there is a gap between the buildings. Once you land, continue along the roof for superjump #12, landing somewhere near the intersection between Webster Avenue and 4th Street. | |
| 13 | Head one block south along Webster Avenue to the intersection with Andersen Street and look for the construction site on the south west corner. Head through the makeshift road inside the building and turn around when you reach the opposite corner. Keep to the left and head back through the building to take superjump #13, landing once again on Webster Avenue. | |
| 14 | Go back to the north west corner of the intersection of Webster Avenue and Andersen Street as per #13, but instead of heading into the construction site head south down the on-ramp for I-88 Section 3. Superjump 14 is a short way down the freeway in the central reservation. Use this to jump back up onto Webster Avenue at the intersection with 2nd Street. | |
| 15 | Head west along 2nd Street over the intersection with Glancey Avenue, and superjump #15 is about half way along the next block on the right hand side. Jump over the pile of earth to complete it, then head through the park to the other side for #16. | |
| 16 | Jump over the pile of earth on the other side of the park for superjump #16. | |
| 17 | After landing superjump #17 head east along 3rd Street, take the first left into Glancey Street and then left again into Andersen Street. Head down the middle of Andersen Street and take the ramp up onto the railroad track. Continue accelerating along the railroad and jump into the shopping mall. Drive through this to the other side for superjump #17. At the six-way intersection where you land take Fry Avenue on the south-west road for superjump #18. | |
| 18 | Superjump #18 is the ramp outside the entrance to the Parking Garage on Fry Avenue which leads up to the scaffolding there. Take this jump and then turn around going south on Fry Avenue for the next jump. | |
| 19 | Head south on Fry Avenue to 1st Street and turn right. You will need a decent amount of speed to jump the broken bridge for superjump #19. | |
| 20 | From superjump #19 head west along 1st Street and turn right down the alleyway just after the intersection with Hamilton Avenue. Bear left at the bottom of the ramp onto the railroad tracks and superjump #20 is right in front of you. Take this slowly so you land on [[2nd Street] ready for the next jump. | |
| 21 | Head east along 2nd Street and go north at the intersection with Hamilton Avenue. The next two jumps will need a fast car suited to getting height. A Manhattan works well for this, so change car at the Junk Yard on Hamilton Avenue if needed. Fiull up with boost at the Gas Station and go a little way north on Hamilton Avenue to the Parking Garage. There is a ramp outside on the south east corner of the garage that you will use to jump upon to the railroad. If you find this jump difficult there is also a ramp at the top of the parking garage that can be used instead. Once up, turn around to face north and drive off the superjump on the left edge of the railroad. | |
| 22 | For superjump #22 get back up onto the railroad using one of the ramps from #21. Head south and drive off the corner of the railroad where it turns east. | |
| 23 | Head south down Hamilton Avenue and at the intersection with Harber Street bear left into Warren Avenue past the Auto Repair shop. Turn right into Manners Avenue and climb to the top of the Parking Garage. Superjump 23 is in the south west corner of the roof of the garage. Take the jump slowly or you will end up on I-88 Section 1 (although there is an broken section of wall just to the west if you need to drop down to road level). | |
| 24 | From outside the parking garage for #23, head east along Manners Avenue and turn right into Shepherd Avenue. At the intersection with South Bay Expressway turn left, and to a u-turn at the electricity pylon about 100 yards. Head west back along South Bay Expressway and bear left down the ramp. This superjump requires a decent amount of speed to accelerate all the way down the ramp to collect superjump #24. Continue all the way along the dockfront and through the warehouse until you come out at the intersection of South Bay Expressway and Hall Avenue. | |
| 25 | Superjump #25 is at the north east corner of the roof of the Parking Garage on Hall Avenue. You should land somewhere on the intersection of Hall Avenue and Manners Avenue. Head west along Manners Avenue for the next superjump. | |
| 26 | Take the first right into South Rouse Drive and head north one block, turning left into Lambert Parkway. Almost immediately there is an alleyway on the left which heads back down south parallel to South Rouse Drive. Follow this alley, drop down 3 steps and then take superjump #26. Go slowly otherwise you will land on I-88 Section 1, in which case simply drop down again using the gap in the wall where you jumped through. | |
| 27 | For #27 follow South Rouse Drive again back to the South Bay Expressway, and head west. Just past the shipping containers there is a sliproad, so do a u-turn just before the South Bay Expressway Bridge and drive over the containers. There is a small step down, then a jump then finally the superjump. Once you have completed it head back onto Sotuh Bay Expressway and head west. | |
| 28 | Superjump #28 is on the South Bay Expressway Brudge, so from #27 just head west. The jump is on the raised concrete ramp in the central reservation of the bridge. | |
| 29 | #29 is also on the South Bay Expressway Bridge. Just continue along the bridge, skipping the next raised section. At the end of the bridge turn right onto South Mountain Drive. | |
| 30 | For the next superjump head a short way along South Mountain Drive and turn right at the next intersection into Casey Pass. Follow it round to the right and the superjump will be visible. Jump over it to the east side to collect superjump #30, and then jump back again and return to the intersection with South Mountain Drive. | |
| 31 | Superjump #31 is off of the top of the Rockridge Dam, so turn right onto South Mountain Drive and follow the road up as far as Lone Peaks Quarry. When you get to the quarry turn back down South Mountain Drive and you should be able to see the superjump in the distance ahead of you. When you have landed the jump get back onto South Mountain Drive and head up the hill again. | |
| 32 | Turn into Lone Peaks Quarry when you get that far up South Mountain Drive. The superjump just inside the entrance on the Split Ramp leading down into the quarry. Drive off of this for #32. From the bottom of the quarry drive south and to the right around the building with two tall chimney stacks. You will see a ramp which leads back up to South Mountain Drive. Go up this ramp and turn right when you get to South Mountain drive, and then drive once more back up the hill for #33. | |
| 33 | To get to the next superjump drive to the top of South Mountain Drive and bear left into Hans Way. Take the right turn at the first intersection into Chubb Lane and follow this for a little way to the next intersection and take a left into Schembri Pass. At the end of Schembri Pass is an intersection with Lucas Way. On the south east corner of this intersection is a small alleyway which has superjump #33 at the end. Use this to jump down to the dirt track at the bottom of Schembri Pass, and then climb back up again to the intersection with Lucas Way. | |
| 34 | Head straight over the intersection of Schembri Way and Lucas Pass. Follow Schembri Way all the way up the hill to where it meets North Mountain Road. Just before the intersection there is a dirt track with bears right and goes through a tunnel. Follow this up the hill a short way and then turn round to face a ramp in front of a Burnout Billboard. Use this ramp to gain access to the raised path and follow it to make two further jumps before leaping off of superjump #34 through the hole in the mountainside. Jump off the end of the dirt track and turn around to face north for superjump #35. | |
| 35 | For superjump #35, head a fair way north, past the intersection with Schembri Way to the intersection with Uphill Drive. Turn down Uphill Drive, but immediately bear left and follow the dirt track to the left of the yellow digger. Drop down two stages of the Uphill Steps and then the superjump is right in front of you. | |
| 36 | Continue to the bottom of the Uphill Steps, or drive down Uphill Drive if you keep crashing and getting put back to the top. At the bottom of Uphill Way turn left into Nelson Drive and then bear left up the dirt track beside the railroad tracks. At the top of the dirt track turn around and drive back down the railroad tracks. As you pass under the bridge bear left and head up the ramp to the Gas Station to complete superjump #36. | |
| 37 | From behind the Gas Station get back onto Nelson Way and head north, turning right into the intersection with Chubb Lane. Drive down Chubb Lane and take the first left into West Lake Drive. Just after the Auto Repair there is a ramp on the right leading down to superjump #37. Take this ramp and come back up the other side onto West Lake Drive again. | |
| 38 | For superjump #38 we have to go back to the railroad track, so turn around and drive south on West Lake Drive, turning right into Chubb Lane and the left into Nelson Way. When you get to the Gas Station on Nelson Way turn around and head north, bearing left up the dirt road back onto the railroad tracks. Just after you drive through the ramshackle buildings and before the yellow bridge there is a ramp on the right leading downwards. Take this ramp to complete superjump #38. | |
| 39 | Follow the dirt track up the hill and through another ramshackle building, then continue along the railroad tracks through a tunnel. Turn around just before the bridge on the other side of the tunnel, and then bear left heading back toward the tunnel. A small access road leads onto Read Lane - take this and then drive west up Read Lane, through yet another ramshackle building. The superjump #39 is on the left just past the building and lands you back down on the railroad tracks. Drive east along the tracks again and use the access road to get back onto Read Lane again ready for superjump #40. | |
| 40 | Follow Read Lane uphill to the west as before but follow it to the very top, past superjump #39. Turn left into North Mountain Road at the intersection and follow the road for a while. Just before North Mountain Road turns sharply right there is a dirt ramp with superjump #40 at the top. Make this jump and then climb back north east to the intersection with Read Lane. | |
| 41 | Drive over the intersection with Read Lane and continue into North Rouse Drive. Take the dirt ramp to the right just before the road splits for superjump #41. | |
| 42 | Superjump #42 is a short way further along the dirt track for #41. Complete the superjump and continue down the dirt track to rejoin North Rouse Drive. | |
| 43 | Keep driving east down North Rouse Drive and just after the double-hairpin take the dirt track on the right hand side for superjump #43. | |
| 44 | Drive even further down North Rouse Drive to the next intersection and turn right into Lewis Pass. Almost immediately, bear right and take the dirt track that leads up to a wooden boardwalk. Superjump #44 is at the end of the boardwalk. | |
| 45 | To get to superjump #45 follow the road to the bottom of Lewis Pass. Just before the intersection with Nelson Way turn left and drive back up the hill through the barn. The superjump is on the right just before the bridge, but you will need to pick some speed up first, so drive past it, then turn around and accelerate back down. Jump the ramp through the barn and drive through to land on Nelson Way. | |
| 46 | Head south east along Nelson Way and turn right into West Crawford Avenue at the first intersection. Follow West Crawford Avenue a short way to its end and turn left into East Lake Drive. Just past the intersection with Ross Drive there is a small pathway on the right leading down to a pier. Take this pathway and jump from the ramp at the end of the pier onto Silver Lake Island to collect superjump #46. To get back off the island drive to the other end and up the ramp against the building, which will land you back on East Lake Drive. | |
| 47 | Drive south east along East Lake Drive to the intersection with Ross Drive and this time turn left into Ross Drive. Follow it to the intersection with [[Nelson Way] and turn right. Drive past the Junk Yard, keeping on the southbound side of the road. A short way past the junkyard is a right turn which leads into Paradise Airfield. Take this turning and drive to the south end of the runways. Turn around to face north and you will see superjump #47 at the entrance to the collapsed hanger on the right. Jump this ramp and then continue north back to the exit and onto Nelson Way. | |
| 48 | For superjump #48, head south on Nelson Way and at the first intersection turn right into Rack Way. Follow Rack Way to the end and turn left, driving south down East Lake Drive. Stay on the right with the southbound traffic and cross the split level bridge, keeping on the right of the road. At the end of the bridge is a ramp leading down to the jetties. Take this ramp and turn around at the bottom, passing under the sign for Angus' Boat Rental. Drive back underneath the split bridge and jump the ramp at the end for superjump #48. | |
| 49 | Head north along East Lake Drive and take the first right into Rack Way. Follow Rack Way to its other end and turn left into South Rouse Drive. When you get as far as the Auto Repair shop turn around and drive south, taking the alleyway left past the first yellow construction crane. Superjump #49 is at the end of this alley. Turn around after completing the jump and drop back down onto South Rouse Drive, heading north for superjump #50. | |
| 50 | Drive north along South Rouse Road over the first intersection and past where it crosses over West Crawford Drive. Superjump #50 is in the parking area on the left immediately after the rock archway over the South Rouse Road. Take this jump to land on the railway and complete the superjump achievement. |
